Well, I do love to prowl the after-Christmas clearances to help shake off the late-winter funk.

CHRISTMAS SLEDS

These sleds came in three different designs.

I removed the jingle bells and saved them with my full-size Christmas decorations - just in case. lol

I have used wooden sleds like this before; for instance ...

Two of them made a splendid screeen for Santa. No doubt I can find uses for these new ones, too, especially when they were cheaper than even unpainted wood! I figure those sled runners can be usefu for something, as well.

IRON-ON CLOTHING TRIM

This was an ornament iron-on, but each of those stones can be used for mini jewelry and trims for jewel boxes, crowns, hats, fancy buckles on shoes, etc.

ORNAMENT HANGER CAPS

Look what these ornament caps can become - crown cake tins, for one, and the metal hangers can become clothes hangers with a bit of tweaking. Even the plastic packaging can be a paint or beads palette, even cut into bowls or small bathroom sinks, or ....?

BIRDHOUSE ORNAMENT

This terrific little birdhouse (its bird perch stuck inside) caught my eye.

Love that metal trim.

I think it could become a quarter scale setting by removing the front and adding a second floor, or - gasp - even a display for mini birdhouses!

VALENTINE SCRUNCHY

This little girl's hair ornament yields lots of gauzy ribbon, plus all those little padded hearts - white, pink and red - would be terrific pillows in smaller scales; maybe pin cushions in twelfth scale ....

WESTERN TREE ORNAMENTS

These ornaments are perfect for quarter scale! I removed the screw hangers.

CANDLE REFLECTOR CUPS

These candle holders are great. Remove the center section and replace the stone with a mirror or picture. The glass sections could be used as fancy windows of some sort; or remove the glass and use the metal trims in various ways. Even the candle cups can become large pans in a rustic kitchen or wash room.

LEOPARD HAIR SCRUNCHY

These elastic scrunchies yield nice long strips of exotic print; used as is for sleeves or pant legs, cut into pieces and scrunched a bit they become hats. The seam could be picked apart and there will probably be enough fabric to make a doll bodice. I saved the black elastic ties to give to my granddaughters if they want them.

SEW-ON TRIM

I have a feeling I have picked up one of these before. It sure looks like a neat hat for a fairy.

EARRINGS

These strange earrings will make great table tops in my Safari roombox one day.

BRACELET

And when I saw this, it reminded me of baby teeth. "Buried" in the ground maybe these can become part of a Tooth Fairy's fence, or as stepping stones, or ....!

SEQUIN PONYTAIL HOLDERS

More hairdo thingies. Each of these strings of sequins is in a different metallic color. I carefully pulled the strings off to save for future use - and the elastics go in the stash for the granddaughters. They have enough for the rest of their lives!

STICKERS

I have seen similar pictures like these stickers in some of the older homes in my area. I was thinking they could be used to simulate paintings on wood; maybe even wrapped around the appropriate piece of glass, even a piece of drinking straw, they could become religious candles.

"CARVED" BIRD

This little bird was at the dollar store. I don't know what I'll do with it yet; maybe a fairy will sit atop it, or some other kind of creature will be with it. He just called out to me.

DECORATIVE RIBBONS

These four ribbon rolls were all reduced to a dollar; great for doll clothing.

TACKY BEAD MAT

This mat has a tacky surface so that beads won't slide around!

And here are some great picture or mirror frames, as well as a couple of floor lamp bases.

Not bad pickin's for the winter doldrums.
